Talk on vehicular cooperation by Prof. Lars Wolf from the Technical University of Braunschweig

We are very pleased to announce the following talk by Prof. Lars Wolf from the Technical University of Braunschweig as per the following details.
You are cordially invited.

Title:

From Vehicular Communication to Vehicular Cooperation

Abstract:

Communication between vehicles and potentially other traffic participants came up as a research topic already many years ago. It has also been considered for long time as a base to enable cooperation between vehicles, but with somehow slower progress than just for communication techniques.
Cooperation in traffic scenarios should be based on information about the surroundings of the cooperation partners. Hence, information about the current situation consisting of the own perception is needed, but could be extended substantially by according information from others, leading to collective perception. Yet, to enable cooperation, more is needed, i.e., information about the intentions of others such as currently planned trajectories as well as potentially desired trajectories.
This talk will discuss challenges and approaches towards vehicular cooperation.
